⭐ 1B — Crisis Communication Scripts

These scripts give you calm, clear, legally-aligned wording to prevent unlawful removals, clarify facts, and stabilise communication during the first contact with the school.

1. If You Are Asked to Pick Up Your Child

If the school says “your child must be collected,” confirm whether it is a lawful order.

Script:
“Can you please confirm whether my child is being formally suspended under Ministerial Order 1125?”

If they say “no”, then your child must remain supervised at school.

2. If They Say Your Child "Cannot Stay at School"

Use this script to stop unlawful removal:

“I understand the situation feels challenging. To confirm, is this a formal suspension decision made by the principal?”

Removing a child due to behaviour—without following MO1125—is unlawful.

3. Asking for Factual Information Only

If the school is emotional or vague, use this reset script:

“Can you please give me the factual description of what happened, who supervised, and what adjustments were in place?”

This grounds the conversation in compliance, not emotion.

4. If They Hint at Suspension Before Investigation

Principals must investigate fully and review adjustments first.

“Thank you for letting me know. I’ll wait for the investigation summary and the adjustments review before discussing next steps.”

5. If Staff Speak Emotionally or Blame Your Child

“I appreciate the update. Can we please stay focused on the facts, supports, and required documentation?”

This re-centres the conversation around obligations—not opinions.

6. Script to Request Written Documentation

“Please send me the written summary of today’s events, including the supervision, adjustments, and next steps under MO1125.”
