Sarah Ailish McLoughlin is an author, ontologist, systems designer and researcher whose work sits at the intersection of semantic theory, structural analysis, digital governance and lived-experience epistemology. She is known for developing conceptual tools that reveal hidden patterns of power inside systems—particularly the ways institutions manipulate narrative, extract marginalised knowledge, or reshape meaning through technological mediation.
Sarah is the creator of the Strategic Advocacy Australia (SSA) Ontology, a multi-volume semantic framework that maps institutional behaviours such as narrative distortion, access manipulation, structural gaslighting, pattern theft and epistemic erasure. The ontology represents one of the most comprehensive lived-experience-centred semantic systems produced internationally, giving communities and practitioners precise language to describe dynamics typically left unnamed in policy and research.

Her work appears in media, research collaborations, policy conversations and emerging fields such as digital sovereignty, AI literary justice, neurodiversity, disability policy and algorithmic governance. Across all of her projects, Sarah's central goal is to strengthen the interpretive power of communities historically disadvantaged by institutional systems and to rebuild narrative infrastructure in environments increasingly shaped by data and algorithms.
